What is a SAP Note?

SAP notes are the information updates, frequently released by SAP as a method of Online Support System.

OSS notes are online documents published in SAP´s web site http://service.sap.com, to take care of the following:
- Product errors
- Product modifications
- Product upgrades
- FAQs
- Consulting notes
- Customizing notes etc.

Certain notes (which are limited to code correction) can be implemented in a simple way using transaction SNOTE.

Other notes which include customization changes , field/table corrections need to be implemented manually.

Some notes contain critical information about the component and have to be used in addition to the component guides that are delivered to the customer.

Some other notes provide corrections to the code as a fix before a support package is released. The subsequent SPs contain the corrections that were delivered through notes before.  Hence it is important to check the current SP level of your system and the SP level with which the corrections come before applying the notes.

Step By Step Customer Master Records Change (XD02)

Demo Example 1
LSMW to Update Customer Master Records with Transaction Recording

Call Legacy System Migration Workbench by entering transaction code LSMW. Every new lsmw project is grouped together as Project / Subproject / Object structure. Create a Project called SD_LSMW and a Subproject as CUSTOMERS and Object as CUST_XD02 .

The main screen of LSMW provides wizard-like step-by-step tasks. To complete your data conversion, you need to execute these steps in sequence. Once a step is executed, the cursor is automatically positioned to the next step.

You can execute a step by double-clicking on the row. Toggle icon ‘Doubleclick=Display’ or ‘Doubleclick=Edit’, makes the step in ‘display’ mode or ‘change’ mode. This option is in top bar buttons. Read rest of story…

Search for Transaction Codes

You can access transaction codes by using the transaction code ‘SDMO’ (transaction code for Dynamic Menu).

Based on your search string, you´ll get all related transaction codes.

Pretty useful!

How to find transaction code in IMG (SPRO)

Sometimes when in IMG (SPRO), there is no way to find a transaction code. Therefore it’s very hard to for instance, send a transaction code to a friend.

This is the way to get it. Most of the times it’s hard to memorize it cause has more than 10 digits and letters, but it’s very usefull.

Select the activity you want to find the transaction code.

Go to Edit ->Display IMG Activity. Then Mark Activity.

Go to transaction code SE16, and insert table name CUS_IMGACH and execute.

In activity field place the activity code.

Execute. In the field TCODE there will be the transaction to insert in the top left box.

Et Voilá.
